Susina botta a muro
Il susino è molto diffuso in tutta l'area napoletana, in particolar modo nell'area flegrea dove sono coltivate ancora diverse varietà tradizionali. La "Botta a muro", detta così perché ricorda, nella forma e nel colore, dei piccoli petardi, è una delle più diffuse. è di dimensioni medie e di colore violaceo. La polpa è tra il verde ed il giallo ed è molto saporita ed aromatica, la buccia è di un bel colore violaceo scuro. La Botta a muro, detta anche "settembrina nera" perché matura in questo periodo, è abbastanza resistente alle manipolazioni ed è utilizzata per la produzione di confetture. è tuttora molto richiesta sui mercati locali.
"Susino" is a very common fruit in the whole Neapolitan area, in particular in the Flegrean area where different traditional varieties of it are cultivated. "Botta a muro" is called this way because it reminds of small firecrackers for its shape and colour. It is one of the most one of the most common ones. It is of medium size and purplish. The pulp is green and yellow and is very flavourful ad aromatic, the skin is of a nice dark purplish colour. Botta a muro, also called "settembrina nera" because in matures in this period, is rather resistant to handling and it used a lot to make preserves. It is very requested at the local markets.
